Celebration Sunday for Annual Stewardship Month
Dear Friends,
We celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, holidays and holy days. Celebrations help us lift up a person, an occasion or an event as an opportunity for showing appreciation and thanks. Today we rejoice both in the gifts with which each of us has been blessed and in God's gift of Christ and the Holy Spirit.
This is “Celebrate the Gift” Sunday. We celebrate all the gifts that are ours as a part of this congregation. The gifts of people, worship, Sunday school, adult and youth faith formation, prayer, caring ministries and missional outreach make our congregation a transformational place.
We discover the significance of these gifts as we understand that all we are and all that we hope to be has its source in the Gift of God through Jesus Christ.
The theme “Celebrate the Gift,” reminds us that all our faith commitments, including our financial commitment to Christ and the church, are acts of celebration, a way of remembering with joy our giftedness, a way of joining with others in sharing our many gifts as we celebrate the gift!
