Two New Working Groups Become "Official"

Beginning this fall, there are two new "official" teams enhancing ministry at Brighton First. Both teams have been formed as a result of the Vital Church Initiative. They are "official" because they will be added to our list of elected church officers and be recognized by our Annual Church Conference (This annual meeting for all members of Brighton First will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2016).

I have discussed the Worship Team in entries in this blog posted in the spring. The Worship Team made up of staff members, worship volunteers and church members has been meeting since May. The purpose of the team is to:

  1. Work as a creative think take for all Brighton First worship services
  2. Plan for excellent worship that connects, transforms and transcends, from initial theme development to all aspects of worship
  3. Support worship leaders in implementing worship design that connects, transforms and transcends.
  4. Review worship honestly and critically, assisting in adjustments toward excellence.
The Worship Team was instrumental in developing portions of worship in support of our current worship series, "Growing Up Social". They will meet the last week in September to assess worship design changes and to plan for Advent.

The second team that will become a standing part of Brighton First's Ministry is a Hospitality Coordination Team. This small group will oversee Sunday morning hospitality efforts at Brighton First. Team members will consist of a chairperson and coordinators for the following areas: ushers, greeters, coffee hour hospitality and visitor follow-up.

I am excited to bring special focus to our Sunday morning ministries through these two teams. Expect to continue to see improvements in our Sunday morning worship and fellowship due to their efforts.
