As in years past, staff members in charge of specific areas of ministry as well as church committees and boards submit their budget requests by mid-October. The Finance committee works through the requests and measures them against projected income for the coming year and sets the budget.
Because the Vital Church Initiative is affecting all areas of ministry, the Finance Committee is adding another component to their deliberations in November. They will consider whether the budget and specific budget line items planned for 2016 reflect the mission of Brighton First and its vision for effective ministry.
The Administrative Board will offer its final approval to a mission statement in the coming week and it will guide decisions that Brighton First leaders make for the future of the church.
Pray for the financial leaders of the church and for the decisions that they will be making in the coming months.
