Easter Continues

Bulletin Letter for April 7

Dear Friends,

As we put away our Easter Baskets and eat the last of our decorated eggs and chocolate bunnies, we may consider Easter behind us. However, in the church calendar, the season of Easter lasts for 50 days and culminates in the Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of the church.

Just as we will experience the blooming of spring in the weeks ahead, we have the opportunity to let the reality of Christ’s resurrection bloom in our lives. We can seek out Christ’s living presence each day, in the company of others and the glory of nature. We can praise Christ, who lived and died and rose for the world in worship, prayer and song. We can commit to living the way of Christ in our prayer life with God and our interaction with others.

Consider the encounters that Jesus had with disciples after his resurrection from John 20, John 21, Luke 24 and Matthew 28. Jesus offered peace and the assurance that he was with them. This is the gift that we are reminded of on this First Sunday of Easter. Hallelujah! He has risen!

Blessings,
Pastor Sherry
