Think, List, Pray

This week I have been praying over lists of names. In the coming days, our Vital Church Initiative (VCI) plan is to form several short term task forces for vital ministry at Brighton First.
The task forces are:

Vision Writing Task Force  - 2-3 member team to put into words Brighton First's mission and vision based on a visioning workshop by mid-September.
Faith Development Task Force - 3-5 member team that will develop and intentional faith formation plan for our congregation. The plan will be implemented by October 1.
Hospitality Team - 2-3 member team that will develop a process to welcome, identify, follow-up, and connect with first times guests and implement the plan by September 1.

In addition, we will name members to a newly formed Worship Design Team. This team, will function as an on-going team made up of worship leadership and congregation members. They will meet 4 - 6 times per year to create and guide excellent worship at Brighton First.

There is a great deal of talent, faithfulness and commitment at Brighton First. There is no shortage of persons who are capable of carrying out these important tasks. I have been approached by many members of the congregation who want to take an active role in the VCI process. Some have expressed passion for the areas above. There are others who have not come forward, but have gifts and skills in these areas.

With the help of church leaders, I have lists of names in front of me. I'll be praying, then making phone calls over the next few days. I ask for your prayers in this endeavor, that God will guide and that the right people will say "yes".

In the coming weeks, I will inform you through this blog who is on  the committees and keep you updated on progress.
