VCI Implementation Team

On Tuesday evening, April 21, a group of Brighton First leaders met to discuss forming a Vital Church Initiative Implementation Team. They were joined by Naomi Garcia, who will be coaching us through the next 24 months.

What will the team do?
The Implementation Team will be made up of 12 members, including appointed clergy. The purpose of the team is to monitor the implementation of the VCI recommendations in the areas of vision development, intentional faith development, leadership development, community outreach and worship. The team will monitor the progress of task forces and the fruits of their work. It will be the Implementation Team's work, with the assistance of the coach, to hold task forces and work groups accountable to the church's vision, the time lines that have been established and excellence.

How will the team be equipped?
Team members will be assigned tasks each month that will enhance their ability to lead. For the next month they have committed to:

  • Pray daily for the Vital Church Initiative Process
  • Worship at all three of Brighton First's worship services
  • Read the book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team: A Leadership Fable by Patrick Lencioni.
  • Over the summer team members will visit other churches that are known for excellence in welcoming and worship.
Naming the complete membership of the implementation team is still in process. Keep watching this blog for updates. I will keep you informed of membership on teams and task forces as they are formed.
